internet connection problems

anyone else in burnley had connection problems over the last few days? Im on broadband and have spoke to four others who have found it near impossible to connect..just curious as when i rang tiscali and got some idiot in a call centre they were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard?!! Incidentally...not just tiscali users ive spoken to but all are broadband...could it be the weather affecting broadband?

i had a few problems last week. but then again im on dial up. aol kept refusing the ppl link any it took 5 or 6 attempts to connect

I'm on dial-up 56k modem, been having problems since I got new PC, but can't find anything wrong at my end. Asked BT to turn the gain up on the line but still same speed (around 28kbps) - zzzzzzz!
Been told I might be on a ..erm...forgotten the term now, but in effect it's a split line with half the capacity - anyone know about this stuff - 'cos the isp and BT are keeping their cards close to their chest it seems.

if you have more than 2 phones in your house..unplug them when you want to get online...it helps with connection and speed issues.

although saying that..on dial up even though your sposed to get 56k its more usual to get round about 28k like youre getting.

im having the same problem. aol connects at about 33k, 40k if im realy lucky.

my connection stinks today..maybe its the snow or cold affecting my connection? it keeps cutting off!!!!!!

I'm on AOL dial up. 7.0 it's a bit hit and miss,many times it just stops for no reason and cuts me off. I think it's a ploy to get us to go on broadband but it's a windows 98 pc and i do'nt see the point. Is it worth going on broadband?

Im On Broadband Lol....no Guarantees!! It Is Better Than When I Was On Aol Dial Up But Makes Me Mad When It Conks Out On Me!!
