Default Date & Time Format

Just FYI:

ISO Standard 8601 (International Organization for Standardization - with ISO explanatory text) Prescribes the International date format as YYYY-MM-DD and the time format as hh:mm:ss for Internet use.

1 very good reason to store Dates as YYYYMMDD is so that you can sort them quicly.

oldest first =

20070112

A good reason for writing the date as 12/01/2007 is that it makes sense and as soon as the americans realise this the confusion will stop. January the twelfth makes no sense, the twelfth of January is the twelth day of January and Makes perfect sense.
They'll be telling us to write christmas of day twelfth day next.

Actually thinking about it though, they'll think the month and day are thier way, but to us as the year is at the start it looks like the whole thing is completely reversed so it is in fact our way. I wonder how when the smallest increment in time is on the rght, we ended up with the largest, the year on the right for date.

I believe that was one of the main reasons that led to the ISO adopting this format, silent_bob.
