bought scrabble game for comp and have installed it but when i go on to play it freezes as soon as game starts. What could be wrong/

will they not be able to tell you where you got it from ,i would take it back and if they cant help get your money back ,

check your screen resolution ollie...thats probably the prob as i have the scrabble game too and it works fine on mine.

Does it require DirectX?
Does your monitor & graphics card enable you to reach the minimum resolution?

Does your PC meet the minimum specification for the game?

What does it actually do when it starts? whats seen on screen?

it requires direct x which i have and all other specifications are ok, when i put in players name it starts games with all windows in front of board and i cant move them they just stretch, the game is going on underneath all this stuff, and when i get the menu up to exit it asks if i am sure as game is in progress. Cant see my tiles or anything. Its a brand new one. Cost me £19.99

dellym how do i check screen resolution? nephew thinks it might be cause i havent a sound card in this computer?

go to control panel and "display" then settings..have it set as best you possibly can..mine are 1024 x 768 16 bit medium...ive just been playing scrabble now actually lol..i won lol!! Dont think its anything to do with sound cos you dont need sound to play it. I dont have a fantastic graphics game card or anything either.

If you play the comp does it use very strange words? Ollie you wo'nt know. I used to have it on the Spectrum and it did'nt half cheat.

have a version of scrabble on comp i bought at comp fair but is german translation and allows strange words. Methinks should stick to board game but thanks to all for help

you havent given up have you ollie? On the settings page that i told you about click on troubleshoot then click on the box "videos or animations dont work properly"...take it from there and see it the help it offers can solve it for you.

did the resolution thing, and my screen shrunk! Couldnt see anything will try thr troubleshooting thing. Found a liitle game on miniclip.com called flip words have a go at it.
