a good place to go for domains that takes paypal is www.namecheap.com

Very cheap, very easy to navigate and very easy to alter settings.

I would chose phpBB www.phpbb.com as a free board and www.asmallorange.com as hosting, about £12 per year for the smallest plan which is what you need at the moment.

What county is your town in? Why not something like a domain for your county and it's a full county site then, not just your area. Competition should drop then.

I'm in North Warwickshire. My main site is Atherstone but I've got sites all over, leicestershire, Staffordshire, Lancashire. Got to be carefull what I say cos forums have ears.

And no I'd never try to set up a rival to burnley or Blackpool.

That's what got me thinking about doing one for this area. It's huge, but I cannot find anything other than a travel site set in Cambridge. I've had so much going on at the moment that I haven't been able to think about it much, but I have 8 weeks holiday coming up, so maybe then.

Can I add games and a gallery to phpbb neal?

but if i want a full v bulletin site with gallery and games , which is what Atherstone could do with, which is the best then?

I'm all for these sites, they are a great place to talk local in real time. I got my idea of accy web working as a warden, and the owner Roy helps out now and again.

I would highly recomend www.vbulletin.com (Site down today, hosting problem, lol). Most mods are easy to install and i've no problems helping you set it all up. With the new forum modifications, it's a simple case of importing a product to add it to the site with most of them.

Arcades and gallery yes: www.vbarcade.com and www.photopost.com or www.photoplog.com (Photo plog used on my other sites as cheap and good)

BW and GBPRIDE are permanent as they took off, the other two are temp licences to see how they do.
