Both Norton and MaCaffee are both space hogs. I have used both AVG and Avast with good results. Also they are both free downloads.

I have used several different anti-virus implementations in the past (including Norton & McAfee). I now use AVG on all my computers with great satisfaction.

Most people I know use AVG and anyone whose computer I re-install after being installed with factory shipped crap I put AVG on.

It is a good program, but I use Nod32. No slowdown when it's sanning the computer, ports, etc. all the time which is great.

Hi,
I'm using ZoneAlarm anti-spyware and firewall and I've a message thats come up as a background image rather than a pop up message saying I've got spyware and need to download a spyware remover etc to get rid of it.
I found CbEvtSvc.exe in my list of running programmes and list of services from the RUN>msconfig menu and deleted them but this message is still here. Any help??

You could try Spybot Search and Destroy. A collegue had a problem like this, in fact two collegues. They had to re-install in the end.

I'll give it a do. I think whats happend is I downloaded a anti-spyware doofer which has installed its own little version of spyware and I have to pay to get them to remove some mystery spyware thats appeared on my system. (I wonder how that got there).
I've managed to sort it more or less but will try with spybot based upon your recommendations.
Ta.
