Default Burning DVD's

What software do I need to burn DVD's? My new LG GSA-4167B will do it, but I am unsure what software I need and where to get it. Download would be best.

depends what you are intending to put onto DVD. Are you wanting to copy a dvd? Are you wanting to make avi type files into dvd format?
I use nero for the final product but other software to convert or extract etc.

As with the others I'd reccomend Nero, available at www.ahead.de.

To copy a DVD thugh I use DVDShrink, which manages to fit a full movie DVD onto a 4.7gb DVD (they can normally be bigger).
A PM might be best to discuss licensing issues.

(TEST POST).... I use nero 6 for straight burns but you can add extras on the top of nero 6 like Vision express which lets you convert multiple video files of various file types a decent package like this can be costly (approx £60-90) but you can use your imagination alittle on the big wide web (handy hint for you there), if you have any probs feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can do Sweetpea.

Just to echo everyone else, i would also recomend Nero.
Pinacle pro is a good simple program for converting video camera footage to mpeg's for dvd's, the reason i recomend this program is it provides good results without a three month learning curve, even if it does look like its designed for kids. =-)

I am a bit confused with Nero and stuff etc
Can I not just go onto a site and find a dvd I like, press "download" button and save it onto my harddrive. Then whack a dvd into my drive and burn it???
what's NERO etc. do?

Ummm, i think windows xp does have a cd/dvd burning program built in, but nero allows you to set options that xp wont, nero does seem a bit confusing sometimes, but in the end its just a matter of knowing what button to click and in what order.
Im not sure at all whether the built in burner that comes with xp can make a working dvd, the problem is, a dvd isnt just a big video file on a dvd disk, its a bit more complicated than that, it has a very specific layout that cannot be done in any other way, or it wont play, Nero does an excellent job of sorting your video files so it is suitable for dvd players.
