Perhaps because underneath the key it is all sticky & gummed up with crud.

A simple remidy of getting a piece of string, passing a loop under the keys & pulling them off, then cleaning the area, usually with an old toothbrush.

My keyboards usually get a bath once a year, total strip down, washed in the sink, dried in a cloth on the radiator & then re assembled.
Gives em loads of life.

Don't want to worry you ollie but i've heard of similar instances by programs called keyloggers. They basically scan your keyboard and report back to the author any keys you press to search for passwords, credit card details and personal info. Keyloggers have been known to cause a pause or unexpected result when you type :(

In this instance i hope i'm wrong but make sure your av software is up to date and also try downloading adaware (google should find it) to check for other spyware.

Good luck.

I use www.lavasoft.com it's very good at getting rid of spyware and it's free.
