Watched it at home sat in my comfy chair.
Kids were on computer........Quiet!!

Not an exciting game!!!!!!

Watched the last 10 - 15 minutes, and was disapointed by what I saw. They were luckt to have won but then, we generally always play poor in our first game.

Good own goal though, but it was a good free kick by Becks. Should that be classed as an own goal or a Beckam one as he went for goal?

after watching that I cant see us getting very far, but then Sweden didn't do a lot better, lets hope things improve, but England played like Italy in that game, all go the first half score and then do nothing, and I think the subs chosen were just ridiculous. Well i suppose if you want to play like Italy they were OK. Being half wop and therefore supporting Italy as well as England this was sad to see, I could always say "well that's just the way Italy play" but England will show em, now there is no difference.
There I have had my moan, now COME ON ENGLAND

am more disappointed with the second half than can express
typical ERIKKSON performance - sooner we are shut of him the better
fab first half, we pressed, tackled had shots at goal and played 4-4-2. Gerrard and Joe Cole were everywhere, as was Crouch - world cup winning display
then the Sven factor comes out - that man wouldn't know a good substitution if his life depended on it - and this IS NOT hindsight talking.
Owen needs games to get match-fit, so we shall take him off - do we put another striker on and try to kill the game off? NO - bring on a fifthe midfielder with Cole (allegedly) pushed up ( i didn't see that- looked like Crouch on his tod to me!!!) THEN, as we are defending deeper and deeper (why?) we take off Cole, and put that muppet Owen Hargreaves on (bless him) - how did he get in the squad, other than "he plays in Germany"?
We then defend our back 30 yards for the final 20 minutes and skank through on what should have been a comfortable 3-0 victory!!!!!
Go Sven Go - and i mean that literally - DON'T BLAME THE HEAT, BLAME THE SUBSTITUTIONS AND SECOND HALF TACTICS
That said, we got three points and Sweden didn't

I found the substitutions a bit bemusing as well, but when has Sven ever done any inspired changes during a match?

I'm by no means dis-heartened by England's performance though...not the best match I've seen so far (that would have to be Argentina v Ivory Coast), but I'm sure they will improve.

I find Svens tacktics a bit negative! but at least we won that's the main thing! Lets keep our fingers crossed that we'll get better as the comp goes on!!
