I was sixteen in 1960 just the right age to fall for george I had never been interested in football, and just thought he was fab to look at, Then I watched him on telly and was completely blown away it was like watching ballet on a football pitch. I was listening to Radio Cambridge today at work. Loads of people emailed in to say that the BBC should be ashamed of itself for giving over so much airtime on the day of his funeral to to a bloke that was just a footballer and an old drunk. It made me so bloody mad. It seems these people had no idea of the man. Probably the most gifted footballer ever, a charming witty man. A generous man. A bloody legend. And last but not least ladies, a stonking good looker. I personally, was honoured to watch his funeral and say a final goodbye.
