Before digital, I had absolutely no interest in photography. Hubby got me one for my birthday a few years back. I have not stopped taking pictures since then. Landscapes mostly.

Vinyl, cd - Nah, iPod for me.

I was useless before digital, wasted roll after roll.
Once I got digi I could see what I was doing wrong and correct it. I learned so much being able to see my mistakes instantly.

Yes, I like digital too, but only because I can't wait to see results..... in all other aspects of life I am quite patient.

My dear old Dad was into photography in a big way.....he had his own dark room and I remember him measuring out the liquids for developing.......and timing everything..... I was often enlisted to help him in the darkroom......he had an enlarger and all kinds of stuff.
He died before the digital camera became freely available. I often wonder what he would have made of digital imaging.
I have a couple of his old camera's and a light meter, but I couldn't bring myself to use them.

One reason I prefer digital is because I haven't the patience to wait for film being developed! :biggrin1: I like to see what I've photographed right there and then.

I used to do my own developeing and printing in black and white,colour,and even colour slides it was great fun
and i miss it as i now use a fuji finpix5000
I once did a wedding and took the photo's of the wedding service ran home developed and printed some off and took them back to the reception
it was one of them themed wedding so everyone was dressed in Rock & Roll stuff .
my grandfather was a founder member of the Preston Camera club.
and he won prizes for his photo's the negatives where glass plates .
i still have some of the 1902 preston guild.

Dad used to do weddings too....he always brought home a chunk of wedding cake which we descended on like a hoard of vultures.
Dad used to take copious notes about the colours of the flowers and the Bridal party's clothes.........black and white was the only option then (I think.......certainly never saw him develop a colour film) and he used to have some special coloured pencils which he used to colour in the photos....he was painstaking and a perfectionist.

I have some old family photos which have been hand tinted like that. They are beautifully done. I used to try to imitate it on newspaper pictures when I was a little child!
