Will do Kiki. I like looking at old photos as well, esp the old victorian family ones where they all look stiff and stern. Do you sell any paintings? We have a lady round here who draws paintings of cats doing things like fishing etc and they are very collectable. :)

Thanks for your interest everyone, i do paint locally and have sold at Kellbrook and Pendle Artists. My daughter also paints in Warwickshire and does mostly childrens art. I would like to paint profesionally and only use the best artist materials! Was trained by a Burnley watercolour Artist , done pastel, acrylic .and silk. Have put some example,s of our work on site for you! your comments would be most appreciated! Thanks again Kiki! :jimbo:

We had a talk by a local artist round here. He was saying that a lot of libraries tend to have less room to display pictures cos they are now full of computers. He also told us that they used to hang the paintings on the sea front wall until they got told they needed millions of pounds worth of liability insurence in case anyone who looked at them got hurt! They are sorting it out and last I heard people were giving them aid to get the insurence.

Sounds daft admittedly, but if propped up against a wall they could fall and hurt someones leg or if tied up the string could break and the frame hit someone on the head. It is getting to a state where you can't do anything in case someone sues you for injuries. Libraries should hang pictures in my opinion as they are public places and encourage the arts as libraries are supposed to do.
