| Hello, i am new to the photography world, am hopefully starting a 1 day week course to do AS level photography in sept and bought myself a Canon D60. My main interests are band photography (gigs, promos etc) i have pics i have taken in past which i will post up if requested, just wondered if anyone had any advice etc. Id love to do it as a career one day maybe work for a newspaper/music mag who knows..... |

| I am currently dipping my toe into band photogrpahy.. Started at the attic in accrington the other week but the lighting was so bad I had to use flash and that just killed the atmosphere of the shots.. they where all crisp and clean which isn't good for bands... I am doing one next friday night where I am told lighting is better so I can try non flash photography which I prefer anyway.. I aint good at flash.. I have a 1.8 and some 2.8 lenses so if the lighting is half decent I will be OK :) |

| I think R&RDave is long gone! I agree with Kipax about flash, although I have had some interesting results by using flash on an open shutter at gigs. I'll have a look for one to show you what I mean.

| yeagh I didnt either willow... silly us :) hi kurtz... I know theres some good effects to be had with flash.... it's me.. I am just not good with it.. I prefer none flash work.. Can get good band pics without flash given half decent lighting and good camera that deals with noise... I am doing a band on friday night without flash.. never been before but am told half decent lighting... my fingers are crossed :) Still prefer an outdoor event :) |
