Default 35mm Digital Cameras

I'm thinking of buying a 35mm digital camera as I used to be into photography some years ago but then lost the interest and all my gear.

Anyone got any thoughts or recommendations?

http://search.ebay.co.uk/35mm_Film-C...Z15230QQsojsZ1

I'd have a look there and then find a site that sells them (as it is often cheaper on the net) and compare prices.
IMO.

I've already got something similar (a Canon). I'm looking to get one that's more like the S series on that web page. Don't want to spend too much money though.

Digital SLR's are still very expensive, you can get some quite sophisticated 35mm compact style cameras - depends what kind of photography you are doing I suppose. You'd be wise to try out the cameras you like the look of if possible, as digital still seem to suffer from shutter-lag, which is frustrating when your trying to do action photography for example.
I'd better stay away from ebay for the moment - too tempting!! All that film camera gear going cheap as people switch to digital.

In general my photography is landscapes - so I don't have the same problem as you do Col.

I have become frustrated with the limitations of my compact so I want to go back to 35mm proper. I am realising now that it's going to cost so I'll have to ask my missus nicely as it's nearly my Birthday.

I've been doing some research on t'internet this morning and I think I'll go and see if I can find a shop with a Canon EOS 350D to have a play with, if I buy one though I'll probably come back online to get a cheaper price

Asda are currently doing the Agfa Finepix E500 (I think that's the no) for 149 & it comes complete with 16mb XD card AND an additional 64mb card too.

We have an earlier model (330) at work & it's excellent.

I'm on the lookout for a nice camera myself.

Let me get this straight Bleys, are you after a digital SLR? No such thing as digital 35mm, and you refer to 35mm rather than digital in some of your posts

I'm getting confused.

Sorry Col. I was confusing terminology - mainly 'cause I don't know that much about digital. It's a digital SLR I'm after - hence the inteest in the Canon I mentioned above
