Unhappy Disabled Parking

We parked today outside Bridge cafe Burnley. A place where we park regularly without trouble. We were there on Wednesday at 12 noon. When we parked today at 11am my wife set the display clock 1 hour differently. Unfortunately she moved it forwards to 1pm instead of backwards to 11am. We were issued with a penalty notice because of this slight mistake. The notice time was around 11am. It should have been obvious that a mistake had been made. We returned to the car to go home at 12.30pm. There was no way we deliberately set the clock to 1pm. Can you help us?

If you arrived at 11am and the time of the notice was 11am the person who issued it must have seen you parking. Is there a time limit for how long you can park there?

Talking Re: Disabled Parking

It is on double yellow lines where we park regularly. Only restriction for disabled is the normal 3 hours allowance. Yes He/She must have seen us and could have called to to set the correct time. Makes you sick doesn't it.

We had a run out to Settle today. The ladies public toilets there were bleak, all stainless steel , not so clean! I noticed a toilet for the disabled which looked very modern but out of order! It must be very awkward for disabled people to not have things working like this! Wouldnt you think somewhere like Settle would have a better set up than this?I found the whole thing saddening!

The traffic warden sounds like a complete Jobsworth. I blame the target setting for thungs like that. If they didn't have to 'acheive targets' then common sense would prevail.

Exclamation Re: Disabled Parking

Hopefully we'll be parking in the same place tomorrow. We'll look out for the warden, or a warden, and see if they can tell us what they have a problem with. Certainly he/she was a "jobworth" but they wouldn't get a job working for me. Common sense is a MUST!!!

Angry Re: Disabled Parking

Hi All, yes today our parking in the usual place went without incident. Further whilst we were checking, we were actually parked on Bridge St. not Bankfield as the PCN quoted. The silly ***** didn't even know where he was when he issued the notice. What more can I say, except I will not be paying the fine.

A guy I know who did this kind of job ended up ill and with heart trouble because of it. Common sense was not allowed he told me and money was the the driving issue not proplem parking or traffic issues. Sounds like these jobsworths must be on a nice fat Brucie or a cut of the takings.

Success everyone, our parking ticket has been cancelled on this occasion with a warning to make sure our clock is set at the correct time in future. I just hope that the "jobsworth" know where he is in future and leaves us alone. Cheers everyone.
