This is my first message in this forum.I lived on Oxford Road in the 1960's till we emigrated in 1969.We had the hardware shop opposite Miss Websters and the hairdressers who were the Greenaways back then.

It was sad to see Burnley Wood in its present condition last year when I came back for a holiday.I was amazed to see that we were so close to Pendle though
Our house on the corner of Waterloo Road and Clarence Street was gone and the shop was boarded up. I would love someone to keep me posted as to whats happening in the area with photos if possible.thanks Jan

I love the Tudor rose, just reading through your stuff you mentioned hairdresser s in your family. I had my own buisness in Burnley Wood on Hollingreave Road/ Springfield Road ,in the early seventies!

You had mentioned the hairdressser near Miss Websters on a previous chat they were the Greenaways in the 1960's.Also Mrs Binns sweet shop. There was Jim Duckworth the butcher between their shop and ours.

Hi Lancs lass I used to live in the shop on the corner of Springfield Road and Wateloo Road around 1958/59.
I was back in Burnley in 1999 for about a week and the area has changed quite a lot.
