Exclamation Please reply to the Welcome threads.

Hello & welcome to all new members, it's good to see new members join the board.

However, what's not so good is that the mmajority of you seem to ignore the post's that welcome you.

This forum is called "Introduce Yourself", please do so.

I liked it how it was before the automatic welcome came in, the new member probably felt more inclined to introduce themselves without it. Just my opinion, I know what you mean though, I think every new member get's a warm welcome and it would be good to get a response, but then some people might sign up and not visit again for a while.

Maybe a direct link from the sign up page would be better (optional). Someone who introduces themself is more likely to reply to a thread that they started.
There are a lot of zero and low posters, some of them moderators or does that mean we are well behaved peeps? :)

i agree also..the welcome email sent to new members is enough i think because some people will have joined that have never used forums before. When i first joined a forum i browsed for ages before posting anything..you might not be able to see each other on here but IT IS possible to be a bit shy at first.

perhaps the welcome emails should also provide a link to the automatic post asking them to say hello in it.

I think it was better the old way when people introduced themselves, if new people post things they always get a reply from people on BW,some sites are very standoffish and don't try to welcome new punters. SO DON'T BE SHY GET POSTING!!!

Yes, but surely it's only good manners to come on, post & say hello.
Especially when others welcome you.

Otherwise, why bother registering at all?

Just to play the free games perhaps?

not for long, as i'll be changing the option so that users must make posts to be able to play games.

Matty you may be right about playing the games but I don't think we can make people post unless they want to,if we raise the number of posts to go into the arcade all you'll probably get is spam.all we can do is say please post we are very nice people!

I'm not saying that they should all make lots of posts etc.

Just say hello/reply to thier introduction thread.
It's usual on many forums to at least say hello.

If a new user is not going to post then why are they registered here in the first place?
