| HELLO to everybody I say I agree that if you set a post limit, you'll probably just get spammed until they reach that limit Yet, it is good manners to respond to a welcome - then again, people might well be shy - JASON seems to have gone all shy suddenly.....! Not seen him post for ages |

| Can't say it's something I'd get worked up over, but then again I don't welcome as many people as I used to because of the auto intro thingy. I do look out for new users general posts to see what they have to say and maybe introduce myself then.

| I think it's a bit rude trying to 'force' people to reply to their welcome threads. They haven't asked you to start them, and coming onto a new forum can be a little intimidating at the best of times not knowing what people are going to be like. I've regd on forums before and held back before posting, so I can guage what people are like before I decide to or not. Just because you register somewhere doesn't mean you have to become part of that online community in respect of posting endlessly. You might just one to use it for information purposes like I did with my first thread about the Bluetones playing in Burnley. |

| You've a point Flower,It's probably better to switch back to the old way that lets people say hello first. If you've got something to say please post as the sites for everyone and you'll get a reply! :) |

I like the idea of a welcome message, but it is up to the individual if they want to respond. |
