Support for Young People with Cancer

Hi, my name is Mike and I live in Nelson. I'm currently undergoing treatment for Hogkins Lymphoma, which is a type of cancer that affects the lymph nodes. I'm writing this post to find out if anyone knows of any support groups that are in or around Burnley that I can go to or support.
If there's not then I'd love to start something with other young people that are going through what I'm going through. I would value being able to share my experiences with other people around here so please, if you read this and are or have had cancer or know anyone that has, please let them know about this post and don't hesitate to get in touch.

Hiya Mikey there is a support group but I think it is in the Rossendale area. I have read about it at the chemo unit at the Royal Blackburn where my husband has been having treatment. I can't find the paperwork for it just now but if you are interested I can get the details for you on Tuesday when we go to the hospital. I have been lucky not to have needed their support but I do know they are there for patients and their families. If you want the info I will gladly get it for you Bernie

Hiya Mikey got the info from the hospital as promised. The programme is called "One To Another" and offers everything you could need really from advice to talking to people going through the same thing down to complementary therapies. You can ask your GP or nurse to refer you or just ring 01282-440110 Mon-Friday between 10am and 5pm. It is called Day Care at Pendleside. Hope this helps, Bernie
