I don't know about everybody else but there wasn't a lot of healthy eating going on in our house yesterday, only just managed to make room for a couple of mince pies last night just to round things off

Im going to make some home made oven chips with King Edward potatoes and we shall have pickles and some sliced beef thats left over. I have been very good and avoided mince pies and chocolate this year!

We didn't even buy any mince pies this year which is unusual because Busman likes them. We never have Christmas cake, pudding or trifle though. In fact we don't really have sweet courses with our meals.

I am sooooo fed up of the food fascists telling us what we should eat, and what is healthy.
I eat a well balanced home cooked diet......I don't use ready meals, fast food or take aways......frequently exceed the five portions of fruit and veg a day.......I look after two very active children......walk a fair bit.......but I cannot shift my spare tyre around my midriff.
I put it down to menopausal weight gain......that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Anyway didn't I read somewhere recently that being fat doesn't always mean you are unhealthy.

I find 5 whole portions far too difficult to achieve. I just don't eat that much in one day.

We usually have 3 portions of veggies with our evening meal......carrots, cauli and broccoli being the favourites........this time of year I snack on clementines and frequently have a banana or an apple after my tea....sometimes mid morning too.

I haven't had any mince pies....I made a trifle......and bought a small slab of Christmas cake......mainly to offer with a cuppa when visitors call.
I have had 3 glasses of wine so far over the festive period....and i haven't had any chocolate at all.
When do you think my sainthood will arrive?
