Default Beauty on a budget.

Now that the warmer weather is coming....I hope......have you taken care of your feet?
If you want to be ready for wearing your summer sandals and mules you need to treat your feet.

If you have dry hard skin on your soles in the heel area.......you can remedy this by soaking your feet in some scented bubble bath, then use a pumice stone to remove some of the hard skin. Don't try to rub off all the hard skin because your body will just grow it back thicker. Give your heels a liberal coating of simple white petroleum jelly. It is best to do this at night just before you go to bed....put a pair of socks on to protect your bed linen. Apply the petroleum jelly to clean feet a couple of times each week and before you know it you will have lovely soft tootsies that will look good over the coming summer.

If you have dry skin on your elbows and knees.......a liberal coating of petroleum jelly work well here too.

If you do not like the smell of pertoleum jelly you can add a few drops of lavender oil and mix it in thoroughly.

Have you any budget beauty tips you would like to share?

Beauty Mask: Beat an egg yolk with 2 teaspons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon honey 'til thick. Place on faceand neck, leave until dry, about 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water. Yuk .. let me know if it works LOL, but keep away from the bears.

Sorry mag .. seem to have put a smiley on your thread heading and can't get rid... oh, only on my post.

Beauty on a budget used to be the catchphrase of Rimmel......many years ago i.e lipstick 1/3 in old money.....eyeshadow a shilling. I used to hang around the Rimmel counter in the old woollies planning what i would buy when i got my wage.

Yeh, makes your skin soft, but didn't make me any more beautiful though :(

After the feet treatment, one to stop them burning and getting sweaty:-

Dissolve epsom salts in surgical spirit, pat into feet, allow to dry. Dust with talc. Also dust inside your shoes with talc or anti-perspirant powder.
'Scus me !! don't have sweaty feet. They just glossy. tee hee.

I always have liked Rimmel which was Outdoor Girl too! but under another name. I sill buy Rimmel and Boots NO 7. I remember going down the old Woolworths, and people would buy Rimmel Rinses in the early sixties the trouble was they were similar colours not a lot of variety! Purple brown being the favourite with two rollers in the front and a bright headscarf being the last touch!:scared:

Never bought their hair colour.....only lippy and eye shadows...which were in lurid shades of blue and green...well, it was in the sixties.

I have horrible feet. Talc in shoes does nothing for me. It just goes squidgy. It's ironic that they can be dry and crack at the heals and yet be sweaty and horrible to. I hate my feet. :yell:
