| I have decided to return to this forum because I remember this thread from when I last was here. I have been researching, and curing, a health problem I have, and restless leg syndrome is just one of the signs/symptoms of what I have -vitamin B12 deficiency Restless Leg Syndrome: Online References For Health Concerns This B12 deficiency has many manifestations which vary from person to person. Some are- chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, insomnia, hypersomnia, numb/tingling in hands and feet, breathlessness, dementia, and in severe cases it mocks MS. Docs are not clued up about it and think it just causes pernicious anaemia. It causes the slow destruction of the nervous system because without enough B12 the nerves can't repair themselves as they continually need to do. There was one NHS doc who knew the problem exists and tried to do something about it. You can read about him here. Please do, so that you will understand the rest of this. Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre Vitamin B12 Research I was getting some of the symptoms. I asked for a blood B12 test. The reading was above the 400 that would prompt any NHS B12 injections. (In many other countries any reading below 500 is treated as dangerous!) So I was on my own .... but I had the time to websearch and found a forum of fellow sufferers who have guided me as to how and what vitamin supplements to take I AM RECOVERING If you have restless leg syndrome and you doc says your vitamin B12 count is fine, get back to me and I will tell you where to look on the web and what to take. I have been websearching and healing myself for over 2 months now and during my research I discovered that our easy access to vitamin, mineral and herb supplements may well be STOPPED! The World Health Organisation, in conjunction with United Nations, has devised a policy they name Codex Alimentarius. It intends to regulate food additives (good), and ensure safe food production standards (good) but it also wants to impose standards on vitamin/mineral supplements - well intentioned but would have disastrous results. They propose that all food supplements should be trialed as prescription drugs are (hugely expensive and only multinational drug companies can afford to do that), AND that they should be on PRESCRIPTION ONLY. Imagine asking your doc for Vitamin C for a cold or Cod liver oil pills, and think what his response would be. It seems that the drug companies are trying to muscle in on the money we pay for simple everyday vitamins. If you take them, or want to protect your right to take them, please sign my petition to Number 10 here Petition to: oppose the adoption of the Codex Alimentarius (WHO/UN) proposals for restriction of the presently freely available herb/vitamin/mineral food supplements. | Number10.gov.uk |
