I liked school dinners lol!! I went to Burnley wood primary when it was on Branch rd and Towneley High. School dinners were great at both but Towneley had the upper hand as they had regular dinners downstairs and upstairs you could get lighter meals like a ploughmans or beans on toast etc.
Teachers...you get good and bad in every school.
My headmaster at burnley wood Mr Griffen was the best ever. A really lovely man who was totally in tune with kids and took the time to know everyone and their parents.
At towneley my best teacher was and english teacher called Mr Gage...loved every lesson i had with him. He went on to become a headmaster in Cumbria.
I had plenty of rubbish teachers or at least teachers i didnt like but if i listed those id be waffling on forever!! lol!!! :)

I went to Towneley inthe 50's. I remember in the cafeteria at lunch time, you always had a teacher at the top of your table. In wintertime, one teacher,Bill Howarth always had one of us to sit on his seat before he came in to lunch so his seat would be warm for him. Imagine asking todays pupils to do that! He would be charged with cruelty.
