I thought vera drake was an excellent film, but more for the women than men.I'm not being sexist when i say that, it's about back street abortion in the late 40's

Double Indemnity - A classic 1940's film noir.
A matter of life and death - A great fantasy film set in ww2 and heaven.
Blue Velvet - Creepy thriller, David Lynch.
Belle du Jour - Surreal Luis Bunuel film starring Catherine Deneuve (French/subtitles).
The Loveless - Biker Film that's an exercise in coolness lol.
Vanishing Point - 70's Road Movie, just don't ask me what the ending means...
Blockheads - Laurel and Hardy, "There's gonna be a fight..."
C'etait un Rendezvous - Claude Lelouch, ...for petrolheads only.
The Ring - The first japanese original, creepy isn't the word...!
Battle Royal - More japanese weirdness.
The Chelsea Girls - Andy Warhol 'Epic'
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas - Trippy visuals and great soundtrack.

I could go on...

I like Laurel and Hardy as well Col,if you can't laugh at them your dead or have no humour in you! Way out west is my all time fav,all the Carry on films (the double meanings, can't spell ontondrer!) with names like Dr,Groper Sir, Sidney FFinn Dr, Tinkle
etc All westerns I'll stop there and let others have a go!
