Question Footballers setting a bad example!

Headteachers are saying that children are copying their football idols in the classroom, they say that children are swearing and being agresive because they want to be like their hero's on the pitch! What do you think?
I think that kids do copy things they see on TV etc, spitting is the thing I hate most! It's disgusting and unnecessary, and I do blame the flobbing footballers for this going on! Or am I just blameing the wrong people? Who do you think is a good role modle? I think you should be yourself and follow no one! Unless it's Columbo or Onslowe!

I do beleive footballers set a bad example with the fighting, pushing and swearing however from a footballers point of veiw the occasional spitting is neccesery and unless you have played football you would not understand it. I agree with you that something should be done to stop the aggresivness of players as this sets a bad example. My point of veiw anyway...............

Well said granny.

Maybe they should make all the footballers play cricket for a season to learn how to behave. It amazes me how the ref gives a foul at one end of the pitch and players who were a hundred yards from the incident run all that way to complain.Although I admire him as a footballer, Ryan Giggs ia one of the worst for this type of idiocy,as are his team mates. And as far as the bad language is concerned,it just shows thay have a lack of vocabulary. What with the shirt pulling and arms across an opponents face, someone needs to take a stand(the spineless FA maybe) and get the game back as a sport. Maybe they should get Jimmy Mac to run a school on how to behave on the pitch!

What's that saying...? Football is a gentleman's game played by thugs, Rugby is a thug's game played by gentlemen.

I'm a die hard Gloucester fan! ;) :) and in Rugby, league esp the ref takes no messing and any player that argues will get punished by extra yards being givin to the other team.
Just to widen it out a bit who is a good role modle for kids to look up to?
In America they look up to people like Arnie( not going to bother with last name!) and I think he is someone who is a good one.but they also want to be like Eminem the rapper bloke who I think is a bad one!

manchester united ( ryan giggs) rule! lol. I am a raving loony manchester united fan so would not like to comment however some of there actions, as with all clubs, is unnaceptable and it is unfair to pick out one team as this is a problem which needs to be addressed by all clubs.

Eminem is also my favourite singer !! (are you people mind readers???lol) Eminem has veiws like all of us, some people find them wrong, some people dont! however he speeks his oppinions. We all have different points of veiw on different subjects and so people could call you a "bad one" for your veiws!
