Capped 1st with bean bag round then with the proper bullets........

Is it poor taste the say hand on heart I sick of the parents do gooder opinions in the local rag WTF did they expect the coopers to do?

Was he killed? I'd like to think it could have been solved without guns.

Bit confusing isn't it Terry. They are saying 'unarmed' police, so do you think they sent for armed police as a back up which must have taken a little more time to make this extreme decision and would have been convinced he was a danger to the public at the time.

They must ave sent for ared response katex, in cases like these our damned if you do and damned if you don't, if anyone is hurt by this guy. I agree with Willow to a point, but when the GP are in serious danger some times there are no there options, but its still sad

It is sad Jaysay, this lad must have gone completely off the rails. Says he was a charity worker too and what a lovely looking lad he was.

Although I understand what Terrywit is saying about the father, must be heart-breaking for him, but who knows what signs he was showing of mental instability before this incident.

Will probably all come out at the inquest.

was going to put a link up to own local left wing chip wrapper but can't untill I've got 20 posts in, Yorkshire Post seAms a bit more sane?

as for Humberside Police gunning this nutter down, parallels between HDM reporting & the Christopher Alder case where people seAm intent in linning their own pockets, when the police have one once actually attended & done what required of them

He was carring 2 large swords and refused to drop them so i dont think the police had any choice but to call in the guns....sad case really.
