Poor journalism

I find the standard of journalism in both written and televised is becoming very poor to say th least, not to mention very insensitive in some cases. This morning there is an item in the press about Ian Huntley, why is it that every time he is mentioned the press have to print that same photo of those two young girls in United shirts. Its the same when terrorism is mentioned on TV news, they always show that bus which was blown up in London. I actually know the parents of Maria Hartley who was one of the victims, we were all at school together and I have worked with both of them in later years. unfortuneatly John has recently died but I can remember him saying in the local press how it used to tear both him and his wife to peices when the scene was show on news programs over and over again. To me there is no need for it and I sure anyone who lost loved ones on that terrible day think the same

I dont think the parents are thought of much at all! a terrilbe situation!

I agree. I don't think they give a second thought to what the parents or other family members may be feeling. If it sells papers that's all that counts. Quite heartless.
