Another one from the "I don't believe it file" I chap was jailed for rape, he served 3 years 4 months when it was proved that he was completely inocent of the crime, as the woman in question had made seven similar complaints in the past. The guy was awarded £250,000 in compensation, but £12.500 was deducted for board and lodgings whilst he was inside. If anything it should have been the woman in question who should have to pay not this poor chap who shouldn't have been inside in the first place.

Yes, I have heard about this, or another a while ago. Sorry, back to the solicitors to sue for this. European court whatever, I'm getting this back, with interest.

Absolutely ridiculous, did he ask for that particular board and lodging?? It is the woman that should pay, as she put him there.

The law in this country makes me bloody mad.
