Anybody Thinking About Christmas Yet?

I never start Christmas shopping before the end of November, if you start early then get run over by a bus or something you could have spent that on something else! My mum died on December 2cnd and although I know it is a selfish nasty way of thinking, was gutted because she had bought my sisters Christmas present and wrapped it up, and I had nothing. Dont get me wrong would rather have mum back than a million pounds but was always jealous that sister had a special reminder. It was a lovely silver bracelet by the way, that she still has today.

Decided to go with the Russian Orthodox Christmas as its in January. Can save a fortune on pressies in the sales.

Dosnt bother her providing she gets something. Did it this year and saved a £100+ on her computer by doing it after crimbo. Besides she looks at it as there being more for less.

She is def one of a kind my little hooli. Best is she never wants much and the comp I had to talk her into because though she has a tower it was getting a little long in the tooth. She is happy if she gets something regardless of what it is.

She has been brought up to understand that if there is money she can have if not she cant. She thinks something is better than nothing and that money is not always there nor the lack of it the be all and end all. Verrrrry lucky in many ways esp when most of her age its gimme gimme gimme regardless if money is there or not.

Nothing wrong with old values it makes things easier. Though pity her temper was as easy to deal with.

I have 5 more birthdays before christmas - 2 of them next weekend one on 29th and one on 30th. Dont know what to buy them though will go and have a look see next week.

It has got more and more commercialised though has christmas. When i was a kid you were happy with what you got - now its all wii's, computers, latest mobile phones, xbox's etc. and they all cost money. Can remember when i was happy to get a tiny tears or a sindy didnt get barbie because sindy had a horse!!! lol Mind you i did get a tv game for xmas one year. I only chucked it out about 2 years ago and thats only because the batteries had leaked in it and bust it.

I agree with all that you say but at the end of the day the only people to blame are parents, grand-parents, aunts and uncles who give in to commerce. I know what I can afford to spend and that is the end of it. No way will I go into debt to give my grand-children what they want. If I have got it they can have it(within reason) and if I haven't it is tough. They either like it or lump it.
