| sounds like she was having a fit of the sulks.....our cats used to sulk for days after we came back from holidays.......they would not 'talk' to us and would be very aloof...sometimes it took a week for them to come round. They just wanted to register their displeasure at our arrogance for going away and leaving them. |

| Don't think you can do much about the litter flicking except sweep it up. One of ours is very untidy with the litter. We even got a bigger tray but she still flicks it around. I did find out that she has preferences though. She doesn't like the heavy clay clumping litter and she doesn't like the bark mulch type but she prefers a pink one by the name of Sophisticat. Once when I couldn't get that so got a grey alternative instead she literally chucked it all over the place.

| No, there is nothing you can do about the litter flicking......just be thankful she is using the litter tray......another one of the ways our cats used to show their displeasure at being left behind, was to do number 2s in the most inconvenient places.....and i would swear that their poo was related to a chameleon....because my Ma in law used to say that the colour matched the pattern on the carpet perfectly....the only way it was detected was by treading in it...usually with bare feet! Not nice. |

| My sister had 6 cats and a dog and when they went on holiday and put them all in the cattery and kennels when they came back they'd go and pick the cats up and then the dog. Cats when they got back home she'd let them out and they'd disappear would only come back for food for a couple of days. Then one by one theyd come in and stay in. Dog would sulk for a couple of weeks - she'd turn her back on them would only go anywhere near them when it was walkies or feeding time!!! It was funny watching it. Now shes down to 4 cats and the dog had to be put down but her daughter stays at home now and so she gets to look after the cats failing that my other sister lives round the corner and so she looks after them as well.

| You do get used to having them around Ollie, I just get so much pleasure in watching my cat. I have had rescue animals in the past but you dont know what they have been through? So i would go carefully, and check their past history ( if they could speak it would be easier, for understanding their traumas, but then upsetting if they could!) I had a cat called "Whizz ",who didnt like Men and used to really cuddle up to women and like nuzzling long hair. She was so affectionate ,maybe a man was cruel to her?:hidewall: |

| Yes i agree, although i think there is an instant bond thing. I experienced this with Whizz. I was destined to have her as there was a long list of people before i put my name down. We had gone to look for another dog ,as we past the cat bit, my daughter spotted this little girl cat looking pathetic. We both burst int o tears when we saw her, maybe sensing her sadness? Two weeks later, out of the blue i had a phone call to say we could have her.She had a happy life with us for only a short time. One day my front bell rang and a n American couple both upset had seen her chasing a leaf that had dropped of a tree on to a main road near the house. It wasnt that i hadnt protected her as she had a big garden to play in!lots of love too!:kitty: |

| We had a stray dog once which chose us rather than us choosing him. I do believe you form a closer bond with an adult animal that way. One of our cats, even though we got her as a kitten, most definitely chose us too. We went to visit the person whose cat had had kittens and we just waited for one of them to investigate us and accept us as the new staff.

| I don't know how cats know just who will take to them......but most of my stray cats have walked into my life and stayed....and when one dies(which breaks my heart) invariably within a couple of days another one will turn up and make itself at home....how do they know I am a sucker for cats? |
