| that is the thing with rescue animals...you never really know what they have been through......though you can bet if they are reticent of humans it is because they have had a raw deal from mankind. you can't blame an animal for being an animal.....it knows nothing else. |

| We've got one really timid and wary cat who scuttles away whenever anyone comes to the house, and one total tomboy who wants to know who is here, why and how long they are staying and can he cover their nice clothes with cat hairs please. We've had them both from being kittens and got them direct from their mums so neither have had any traumatic experiences as far as we are aware and yet they are so totally different in character. I suppose cats can be as different as people. The extrovert is currently beautifying himself here on a pile of cushions. The introvert will have taken herself off to bed with my youngest daughter who has been away at camp all week. That cat loves her to bits despite the fact that she carries her around like a parcel.

| Just means she is not sure of you. Probably just wants attention. Try giving it a stroke or a cuddle or get a ball of wool out for it to play with, or a box for it to hide in. Get a piece of string and wiggle it in front of it. Play with it. Go on, give it a go. |

just settled down like every sunday morning to read the papers, and now she wants to play after ignoring me for two days! She keeps sitting on the newspaper, they are funny little things, they can ignore you when they feel like it, but if she thinks i am ignoring her its another matter!

| If the cat looks in your eyes it just needs reassurance and affection and lots of fussing. Play with the kitten with a small piece of newspaper and string, talk to it too, they like that! My Mum used to" butter the cats feet," which would just keep the cat cleaning itself rather than go out. Good idea when house moving! |
