hope to god its a false alarm but have just read on claret mad that a four year old girl playing out near the hospital has been bundled into a car and there are police cordons and all sorts going on round there tonight

was not correct, thankfully, it was a teenage girl dragged into a car by two men and she managed to escape

bad enough, it was still an attempted abduction, just glad she got away.

Does anybody have any detailed information about this?.....the reason I ask is that my daughter (aged 16) was followed and harrassed by two men in a car only a couple of months ago. She was walking in the Burnley FC area and two men in a car pulled up and started to harass her, they:
*blocked her crossing TWICE across a street forcing her out in the main road to get round the car
*followed her up the road, kerb crawling, continually trying to get her to stop and talk, give her number out, asking her if she wanted to get in the car
The whole ordeal lasted about 10 minutes as they followed her for a considerable distance.
She looks younger than her age, due to her size, and was not dressed in a way that may attract this attention. We did report this to the police, providing a car description and description of the men, but unfortunately the investigation was unsuccessful.

Its really sad that girls cannot walk or play around without harassment from shadey bods in cars. The fact this is happening shows how screwed up a minority of people are that the target and lift girls that are still kids and babies. Having I daughter of my own I frett when she is out and hope she reappears. Yet we cannot protect them 24/7 especially as they get older.
