| Margaret Hodge has been getting into hot water. She has said that the indigent population should be considered first when social housing is being allocated....what are your feelings? Do you think it is right that people who have lived in an area all their lives should have priority over local authority housing......or do you think that the homeless immigrant population should come first because their need is greater (because they are homeless)? |

| I think that immigration should be stopped at the moment due to the country struggling to support the growing population unless people come in with skills and can work to pay their taxes and something into the country. But in all, those who were born in this country and who have worked all their life or paid a lot in tax should be given priority, yes.

| There was a news item on TV recently where Romanian Roma 'children' (some of them were 16 and 17) were coming over here without their parents, so that they could have a better life. They were allocated homes and money to live on. One of these 'children' was 17 and living with her Roma boyfriend.......and was smiling and saying it was 'wonderful' to be in Britain....well, it would be wouldn't it?...seeing as we are paying her bills. If you haven't paid into the benefits system, then I'm sorry, but you should not be able to claim anything. They should all be loaded onto the next plane and sent back to where they came from. |

| Sounds about right!!! |

I'm quite suprised about that. Having left there 5 years ago having served an 18 month sentence I didn't find it that bad. Clearly it appears to have gone downhill which is quite funny considering I know somebody from Accrington who thinks it's better down in Sin City :puke: |

Everyone who worked for the council was apparently told that they couldn't discuss it for fear of reprisals, but wasn't it obvious that people would find out? Which they did and all hell broke loose. Those that came over were not there for long. I've no problem with people coming here for Asylum as long as: a. They bring something good to the area / country b. They return home when they are able to do so c. Britain can afford to let people come here for Asylum when at the moment she can't afford to repair potholes
