Default Babies and Earrings.

Just got an email with some pictures from a friend of mine, who has a baby girl a week older than mine, (who is six and half months). She has got her little girls ears pierced. Personally, I think this is too young to be getting ears pierced, is it me being funny, or do others think the same, or is it a personal choice left up to the parents?

in the Italian half of our family all the girls had their ears almost as soon as they were born. My father being English wouldn't allow me to have mine done, so I was five before my ears were pierced and I was so jealous of my cousins.
I myself think it is too young. I wouldn't risk the chance of infection in such a young baby.

im very much like that with most things il let them chose when they are older eg,religion, friends, all that kind of stuff id never force anything down their throats its all a matter of choice when ready and able to make those choices

No I think it's too young, although it does look cute!! I think its a personal choice whether or not to have your ears done.

i was 4 when i had mine pierced, my friend who's baby is just 3 weeks old took her to have them pierced in Accrington the other week, i couldnt believe that the woman on the market agreed to do it actually, thankfully the babies lobes where too small and sam has to wait till they grow a bit, but if i had a little girl i certainly wouldnt have them done so young

I'd let Alice get hers done when she's about 6 or 7, if she asked to get them done, but I wouldn't take her to a shop and make her get them done. I'm not against little girls getting their ears pierced if that is what they want, I just thought 6 months was a bit too young. I was just a bit surprised at my friend.

yeah its a bit young really i know when they show a desire to do something when older you know its definately something they want but unless thats the case then you are forcing them to have it done

I wouldn't force a child to get their ears pierced. I think it should be their own decision. Both my girls have theirs done but only when they asked. Mimi was very young but insistent. Emz was older.

A relative of ours has her babies ears pierced, girl has two and boy has one - older girl is just getting her belly button done. I'm surprised she found somewhere that would do that for a 10 year old.

I thought you had to be 16 to get your belly button pierced? Obviously not, though.
