Oh Mercury you reminded me, when we used to take the scenic route into Plymouth to go shopping we always stopped at a place called Buckland for lunch. The little restaurant there did their own sticky toffee pudding made with black rum, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm can just taste it, I give you thanks for the memory

I have a sweet tooth and love puddings.....in fact sometimes I will miss out on the main course and just have soup in order to satisfy my longing for a pudding.
I make a mean Sherry trifle.....make the custard from scratch......never put jelly in it......and although i call it Sherry trifle, I counteract some of the sweetness in the sherry with a couple of tablespoons of brandy. I make a lovely home-made bread and butter pudding....and Cabinet pudding is another one I do. I am very partial to Cafe Renoir, but have to admit that I never make that myself. I love syrup sponge pudding and custard....oooooh, goodness, I am drooling here. This thread is setting me longing. |
