I was a bit disappointed with the Da Vinci Code....it was hyped up so much, and i think that destroyed it for me.....I expected it to be much better than it actually was.

I know I will probably get lynched for this....but the same thing happened with the Harry Potter books too. I'm not too keen on them...though I know they are massively popular. I suppose anything that gets children reading again has to be a plus.

I think it's a matter of personal taste, my friend loves stuff about magic/mythology but hates Harry Potter. I tend to go more for biographies/crime/thrillers, but love Harry Potter.
Have you ever read any books by Philip Pullman? He is a good author, and his books are quite entertaining..

I've decided to re read them all again, prior to the new one coming out! Had a weird dream the other week about being the first person to read it, rang the newspapers up, and leaked the story!!! Cool!

Got some books from the library about Local History,Don Howarth who mentions Burnley in the 1920,s which is interesting. Also the guy who wrote "Broken Biscuit", called "Cracks in the ceiling" which has alot a similar stuff in it to the first book!:lightbulb:

But, there was a twist in the tale, Harry wasn't really dead! He came back, duelled with Voldermont, and this time, killed him! Harry became head of Hogwarts with all the weasleys as teachers(!) Weird or what!

I'm halfway through a little book that I was given by an AccyWeb member called, 'The Case for Easter'. The guy who wrote it set out to prove that the crucifixion and resurrection couldn't have happened as recorded in the Gospels but ended up convincing himself that it did.

That is a case of starting out with doubts and ending up with certainties.
