| Chorley cakes are far superior than Eccles cakes :) Having worked at Oddies bakery (Nelson) i can tell you that nothing cooked is as fresh as it may seem. Pies are prepared at the home bakery then frozen for delivery in upto three days (dependent on stock) then defrosted and cooked at local stores. The pastry that is left over used for sausage rolls and pies containing puff style pastry is re-used and carried over to the next day (your pastry could contain weeks old ingredients) and none of the delivery vans are refrigerated! They also state they are quality bakers. I wish they would reflect the premium price of products in the workers wages :( Not a rant, just a heads up :) |

Better than asking for a steak pie supper up here. The brother in law got a shock when it was thrown in the frier. |

| Hya spuggie they do that in Liverpool or used to, how do you like those 'Scotch' pies? I think they use mutton to fill them, I find them to greasy and the pastry is very heavy.
