Don't get me started on EU regulations! Ooh I wish I could swear in here lol.

What have the rest of Europe got to do with Eccles Cake! Or Kendal mint cake! Or anything else in Britain for that matter?

Drives me mad, they should keep their noses out!

</rant>
Aah, that's better :)

What makes things worse is, my missus don't say teacake or Barmcake; she calls them baps - well she is from Herefordshire lol
We call em Muffins.

It's been on the news. People have stopped buying them and now big chain bakers will no longer sell them. We would rather buy muffins instead.I am rather sad about this. It sounds a bit daft getting upset about it but just think that we are now eating less British food and more Alien food.
I am all for choice but when good old tackle like the Eccles cake goes what next?
Kids would rather go for a burger and pizza than have fish and chips. We are very slowly loseing our Britishness this is the beginning of the end! :( :stop:
We used to call them "Flies Graveyards"

My family on my mums side were all bakers and confectioners. They used to call voll-au-vonts (spelling?) "snot buns" and chocolate hundreds and thousands were always called "mousemuck".

Default eccles cakes

I suppose that if eccles cakes have to come from Eccles,
it stands to reason that sad cakes must come from Blackburn
