If you do have room in your garden though for a red robin that looks nice its evergreen so the leaves dont fall off and they do turn red and it spreads.

Where are they? If they are in the garden get some canes in so you can tie them up. That way they wont blow over.

In the greenhouse at the moment, in largish pots, tied to canes.

They need alot of root space , (especially the large Russian variety) so if you get them in the garden as soon as the weathers warm in a sunny spot. Ive not seeded mine yet!and have bought some dark red ones this year!

Kiki the photo of the red robin is in member galleries i tried resizing them but i didnt go far enough and couldnt be bothered doing it again so stuck them in members galleries.

What kind of pots - I had some in little plastic pots and waited too long to plant them out and killed them because id damaged the roots. My neighbour had grown hers in peat pots and just planted the pots in the ground and they were as tall as my garage!

As soon as you can get them in the ground be careful where you are planting them though. Make sure that you have some good strong canes in with them as well 6ft so then when they do grow tall then you dont need to swap the canes over. That way you wont damage the roots.

As soon as you can get them planted out the sooner they are planted in the place where they are going to be the better.
