I tried patches...............just willpower............didnt work!! Read his book once and gave up....... You smoke while you read it.... Try it if you smoke, youv'e nothing to loose, probably the price of 2 packets of fags........:Banane42: :Banane10: :rudabaga[1]: .........i have never felt happier, healthier, richer, more confidence, less smells on my clothes, house better, |

| It is sad that a man who helped so many people kick the habit, has died from Lung Cancer. I have never smoked......could never afford it when I was younger...now I am glad that money was too tight to burn. |

| My hubby stopped about 25 years ago...he had been stopped for about 5 years when we went to a wedding and he was given a cigar...that started him off again for a little while. Then he had a really bad bout of bronchitis and he kicked the weed completely. Now he can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. |

| I dont like smoke in my face, i cant stand it in cafes where people eat, i do like smelling the smoke as an ex smoker, and like the smell of tobacco.......I do think it should be banned in all eating places though............Heres hoping i never ever start again:Banane34: :Banane02: |

| Neither do I Kiki, but I have just had an operation at Blackpool Victoria Hospital for the removal of a lung cancer along with part of the lung. Iv'e also had bowel and colon cancer twice, and I don't blow smoke out of my backside either, seriously cancer is a lottery but can still be beaten given an early diagnosis, and a positive attitude.

| Having said all this, there is a saying!!--NONE SMOKERS DIE EVERY DAY!!......or you could get hit with a bus,........its unbelievable how many chemicals are in cigarettes,........i wouldnt like to see my lungs thats for sure....... |

| It is certainly true that you don't have to be a smoker to get Lung Cancer, but if you work in a smoky atmosphere then that contributes to the risk. I think smokers should be allowed to make their own choice, but I am glad that legislation will prohibit smokers from following their habit in public places. The people who work in Pubs and clubs do not deserve to be subjected to second hand smoke as a result of the work they choose to do. |

| I smoked for 20 years.........I will have been given up for 3 years in march.......Ive read articles saying it will/may take 20 years for my lungs to be as good as a none smoker, thats if i havnt already caused any permanent damage for the future,...I had a heart operation when i was around 10 yrs of age and this still didnt stop me smoking all them years.....Thats the hook that nicotine has on you......some Scientists reckon its easier to give up Heroin than cigarettes, But ive never heard of anybody knocking some poor old person on the head for a packet of fags.. A lot of medical people said his book was rubbish, but he explains in it that swapping nicotine for nicotine patches in most people doesnt work because they are still addicted to nicotine......... |
