| One of my new customers came yesterday to collect a bear she had ordered. She had seen them first in the Bear cafe in Tod. I received this email this morning, I am walking about 3ft above the ground at the minute with a head the size of the dockyard gate. Hi Estelle, I wrote this for youI hope you like it. Tod Bears Very best wishesA trip to Todmorden one day Took us by chance to the Bear Cafe, Where after having luncheon there I saw and bought my first Tod Bear. He's really cute with fur of grey, He's wonderful in every way, I sat him on my bedroom chair But he looked lonely sitting there! He needs a friend to come and stay To sit and chat with through the day, So after searching on 'the web' We found Mons Mill with his broken leg! To Grumpys Mill we're on our way This little bear will come to stay, Back to the 'caff' for lunch we pop But what is this inside the shop!? More teddies sitting on a shelf I really can't control myself! Their little faces seem to say "Please will you choose me today"? My teddy family now was four But yet I know I still want more I can't resist these precious things And all the pleasure that it brings. I've got the daddy of them all He's very handsome strong and tall, He looks so noble sitting there This growling gorgeous Harley Bear. The 'Blooming Bear' came last of all She's beautiful and very small, She has a posy in her hand Sat in her bucket she looks grand. So now I'm looking for another They need a sister or a brother, This passion I will never quell So thank you for my bears Estelle! Barbara and the Bears |

| OUR PETS (garabaldi) the cat sat on the mantle piece it didn't move a paw they'd washed it in alabaster and dried it by the door the bird sat in the gilded cage hanging upside down it swung occasionally in the breeze but didn't make a sound the dog stood by the fire hearth with a glazed look in its eyes the taxidermist said "give it a week' and then vanished both its eyes the hamster scurried around the room looking for a meal and then the batteries ran out and it stopped behind the screen the rabbit looked quite lively as it lay upon the plate they'd forgotten to take the fur off and it burnt whilst on the grate Granny just sat and looked at all this menagerie they'd stuff her after Easter a hand held cup with tea Me mother said "it's quieter with everyone at rest" now go brush ya hair, bible out to church in Sunday best |
