Launching the website last week, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre stressed the move was not about "naming and shaming" offenders whose whereabouts are already known, but finding those who have gone missing and cannot be traced by the police. For the website see http://www.ceop.gov.uk/wanted

I had a look at that website last week when it first went live. Excellent idea, very commendable and a definite step in the right direction to keeping an eye on these people (the term people used very loosely in this case). They've had 8 million hits on the site since it went live on Friday and had their first excellent result with one of the peodophiles seeing his own picture and handing himself over to the authorities. Good do!! ![]()

Thought it maybe of help & interest to see whats going on & keep tabs on these inhuman characters & if the inhabit or close to local area!! :becky:

Well Mel, you'd actually be surprised how close to home it is. I can't remember if it is 2 or 3 of the 5 wanted scrotes that had connections to the North West. Quite shocking really!

I probably wont i just dont like to think about it hehehehehe, but if thats the case its making people aware of it that if anyone spotted or came into contact then they know what to do - as before we could walk past one being not aware - quite scary really, but always best to be informed than not & with all those hits already its a national concern & a right step in the direction to catch these scrotes

These people are everywhere, as an earlier post says, you could walk past them in the street and not realise it. The main problem lies with the government and so called human rights activists, they stifle and nullify the justice system completely, some of these people wouldn't be walking the streets now if it wasn't for these two factors, and before anyone asks, I work in the justice system and I come into contact with all sorts of criminals every day, and you really would be suprised how many sex offenders I have to convey to court every single week :frusty: If the government would get a backbone and use technology that is out there, maybe we could all breathe a bit easier for our children, when I say this I mean if we can put a chip in a dog to tell who it's owners are, or track a rare species of fish in the ocean, why can't we put a microchip into a serious sex offender and use the satellite tracking systems to keep an eye on where he/she has been, but that will be against human rights won't it :argue:

Blooming heck Tartan Claret bet it really pee's you off cos you face it every day, yes i definately think the law could be implimented more strongly to these kind of criminals & know 1st hand what damage they do to victims & their families, as u rightfully say the human rights bill has made it an easy loophole for these pervs & other serious criminals. Basically they should be on an island of their own where no kids or other innocent ppl live!!

Well yes thats the price they should pay, if they dont like it tough they choose to do that - their victims dont! |
