sadly yes..although im not as bad as i used to be. Today ive saluted a magpie and tossed salt over my shoulder when i knocked the saltpot over.

Yes, I wont walk under ladders and dont kill spiders!

There is always an element of truth in most superstitions,salt was once a form of payment and it certainly was bad luck to spill it. Magpies mate for life and if you see just one on its own they ahve lost their mate.Walking under a ladder can be asking for trouble if something falls from above.
As for me I wouldn't wish anyone a Happy New Year until it really is the New Year.

also when i was a kid i went to hargher clough school,and when we went to gannow baths,we walked down cog lane and all the kids used to hold their collars and hold their breath while they went under the bridge,and chanted (touch your collar never swallow never catch a fever ),when we got to the other side ,

There used to be a f unny rhyme i knew as a kid it goes. If you tread on a nick you will marry a stick and a beetle will come to your wedding! maybe i believed it once when i was really small? And find myself still avoiding nicks nowat middle age! Maybe its early conditioning? :lol:

I'm only supersistious when it comes to football. I firmly believe that Arsenal won the league last season cos they had a lucky thing more powerful than any other team!
I've got a lucky thing that helps the Clarets ;) ,I'm not telling you what it is cos if I do that it may lose it's power! All I'll say is that the Gypsy said I'll get my £1000 back if the lads are'nt Champions league winners in 5 years time!
