There's lots of talent out there, that's being kept out of the charts because they are clogged up with tripe. Hopefully, there will be another Punk or a pop backlash soon that will blow the charts apart and we can see some proper bands on TV.

The acts we are presented with are playthings of the music execs, nice, safe chart fodder. Where is the excitement in that? The best music is something that comes out of anger, frustration, boredom, passion - extremes.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, these talent shows don't give us the finished article, they are not ready to play live venues, they haven't served their time playing small clubs and the like in order to hone their craft...they are groomed for the TV studio rather than the road.

These programmes are ok for Saturday night entertainment as long as that is where it stays!

Most singers and bands now do'nt have to be anything more than good looking.
In America,British music sales are a joke,in the eighties we had loads of bands doing well over there.I feel sorry for the young people who are forced to listen to tripe and brainwashed into thinking it's good.

As has been proven by the awful viewing/listening figures of the tripe peddlers Radio-1 and Top of the Pops - and yet THE POWERS THAT BE still inflict this obviously poor "music" on us - - - - - WHY?
We have been subjected to lazy dance and rap now for the best part of ten years and I am sick of it.
People slagged BritPop - but at least they were bands that SANG and played INSTRUMENTS - a rare commodity now a-days. I remember a time when records reached Number-1 in the singles chart AND STAYED THERE!!!!!!
Radio-2 is my station now a days. Together with LATER with Jools Holland, which has playing quality music for over ten years - typically of BBC though - Later is on at bout midnight on BBC2????? - pillocks!

AND . . . . . . . . .
I heard that that god-awful tripe by her off big brother, sold approx 2000 copies AND STILL REACHED ABOUT NUMBER 24 IN THE HIT(???) PARADE
And that my friends, sums up music today!

So if Darts make a comeback, they may have a good chance of getting to no1?
I can't believe people buy cd's in the chart's anymore. Can anyone remember the first record they bought? Mine was Comeback my love by you guessed it Darts, class or what?
