Is It right to start hunting Whales again?

and wanted to know what you think!
Is it right to start hunting Whales again?
I'm not happy about the thoughts of the Whales being hunted again! as I think they are wonderful creatures! but some say they eat all the fish and are no longer in danger of being made extinct!
What say you?

Everything that a whale is hunted for can be produced synthetically. Absolutely no reason to kill this beautiful animal at all!!

1. I am absolutely against hunting whales or other animals....

but

we probably all eat fish, pork, meat, beaf, chicken and whatever and all this is just a developed form of hunting... thats the way of nature...

thats why it is difficult to judge about that - but at least

noboddy should hunt animals which he is not going to eat to survive...

I don't find this one difficult to judge, Japan already has warehouses full of wale meat they cant sell as the average person in the street doesn't eat it any more, just the fat cats. This is purely political they just don't like having to comply with rules imposed from outside japan.
This form of hunting is immoral and obscene.

at least we agree poppy, they don't hunt them because they have to eat them to survive... but whats with us, I mean everyday people put loads and loads of all kinds of meat in the bin... that's a problem too - thats all I wanted to say... as I already pointed out - I am against hunting whales and all other animal which we don't need to survive for example also animals which we kill just to have a nice crocodile handbag !!!! and with "we" I mean us human beeings...

I do take your point Nikky, you are completely right
I haven't eaten meat or worn leather (even shoes ) for over twenty years, I have to pay premium prices to get good shoes that are not made of leather. I just cannot think of killing something when it isn't necessary. This is purely for my own conscience, I do not expect others to do the same. But I do expect polotics to be above killing for the sake of ego.

I think that's a very good attitude ! I have to say that I can't be bothered to eat vegetarian or stuff like that... but I do my very best to use stuff just as much as I have to, don't put food in the bin (cause I have to think of my dad who was born in the war and just survived with the melted water of snow - and all these poor people all over the world), try to use products which are not tested on animals (which is verry verry hard to find), don't waste paper to do my own little bit for saving the woods and stuff like that... to be honest, it's not much what we can do - and I don't want to spend my whole live with thinking about that, but a little bit of thinking about the things can't do me any harm, can it ?

Nicky that's great, if every did the same as you it would make a huge difference. I know what you mean about your dad I was born during the war, but as far as I can understand we did not suffer such bad food shortages as parts of Germany, though bad enough. Keep living as you are living every little bit makes up a big difference

I dont believe in the hunting of whales at all but you can bet that some people in japan will still hunt them! its a terrible shame of a great creature!
