Angry Tax Credits

Why does no-one ever tell people the truth about entitlements etc? It seems i may be entitled to a child tax credit i didnt know about and have lost out on about 2 years of payments as a result...i filled a claim form in online out of curiosity and the estimated amount i am entitled to at present is nearly £800...whether i'll get it or not is another matter but im angry that no-one tells people!!

There were plenty of adverts on TV when it was introduced, but it is up to the individual to ask for the forms and return them. If you are successful, you can claim up to 3 months backdated if you were also entitled during this period. But the downside is that it can reduce your housing and council tax benefits if you already receive those.

Millions of pounds are not claimed every year. I tell elderly people to claim what they are due. The problem is that a lot of elderly people do'nt like filling in means tested forms. I know from first hand that they feel indignent and the govenment know this as well. If Digsy sees any ex-sevice people he tells them to make damn sure they get their due. As I say if you think you have a claim put it in they can only say no.

The problem is they know that people do'nt always know what they can claim for.
You may get some money back Dellym but only a few months. Why do you think they take years to pay out for things like atom bomb testing in the 50's? It's all about saving money, money that can make a lot of difference to people who have a low income.

It Certainly Does Granny...without Going Into Detail I Live In My Mums House..so Thought That As I Had A Nice Roof Over My Head..ie. Not Getting Housing Benefits Etc That I Wouldnt Get Anything. I Know To Others It May Sound Ridiculous But I Honestly Didnt Know The Half Of It!!!
This Welfare Service Should Be More Publicised. I Was Told About It Yesterday By A Nursery Teacher Who Turned To Them Once. They Have A Notice In The Library But Ive Not Seen Anything Else About Them.
I Searched On Google Just To See If I Could Find Anything Out And Opened A Whole Can Of Worms Lol!!!
Maybe I Can Turn The Central Heating Back On Now Eh!!! Lmao!!!

I was on family credit for years, it was certainly needed.
Unfortunately now I earn just a tad over the limit so don't get it, but I have been getting child support since the kids were born.
It's not a lot but it helps.

If you have paid your dues then there is no reason why you should not get your benifit when in need.

Just don't turn that heating up yet. :D
