So what do you think?
Would you want to be a Mum or a Dad at that age?
Is it fair on the kid to have such old parents?
Or is it fine and none of our business?
What do you think?

No. I used to work in the fertility business and, no I do not think it's right. My Mum was 30 when she had me, and we might just have well been on different planets. To have a Mum of 70 when being a 10 year old child would be so emabarrasing. I personally would hate it and you can just imagine the other kids finding out!

I agree Sweetpea!
I would'nt like to cope with a toddler at 65yrs that you could'nt give back!!!
I would'nt want to cope with an angst teenager going on 80 either!!
Will they live long enough to bring it up?
Rather them than me!
As for the child, I think it's going to be hard having parents so old!
Do you agree? Or am I just being ageist?

Possibly, but I agree. The child would end up looking after the parents and you have to wonder if that's what they want the child for. This child will not have a child's life and that is not right!

I became a Mum for the second and last time at 29, at 33 I was a Gran. My grandkids loved have a younger Gran, so it worked out well for us.

Wink

I Think its outrageous that this woman can think about having a baby at that age. It is ethically and morally wrong. She is way past child bearing age. Women have menopause to stop them having more children. Just because science has proven it can do something does not mean that they have to do it. Anyway who would want another child at that age. She must be wrong in her head. I had my last one at 33 and felt old then..............lol. I agree with all of you on the implications it will have for this poor child. It will be a carer or an orphan before it is in its teens.

personally i think if the woman is healthy and she is able to care for the child and provide for it why the hell shouldnt she have another one if she wants to.

i dont think personally i would have one at that age but being pregnant myself and im 35 this year i think im an older mother but if like i said she can provide the child with the love it needs then im all for it

I think its wrong to go against nature ,and also the risks she is taking, although she looks well enough! Im a grandmother in my early fifty,s and quite fit but to take on a child at this age,and i have done it with my grandchild with help from my hubby! Thats being only for a week whilst my daughter went on honeymoon and the baby eighteen months!you have to be so switched on and give them the best. Unless you have a nanny and are well off maybe ?but at fifty and sixty you cant do what you did when you were twenty!
