Default Chaos

The Centenary Way carpark is now reserved for students at Burnley College Monday to Friday. Can't complain about that really as they have to park somewhere and held long term parking tickets for the St Peters. The places on Ormerod Road are resident only and that option is no longer there.
But driving into the Woolies carpark through the new entrance, I drove round and round half a dozen times and there were no parking bays available at all. So what are you supposed to do? you can't get out of the car to go find a machine to stamp your ticket as there is no where to park, you can't get out without paying for a ticket. I ended up calling an attendant over who said the machines showed two empty places, but people had parked over two bays. There were at least six other cars doing the circuit waiting for a vacant spot, so how did we all get in when the place was full? This was mid morning, so what will it be like on a weekend and they tell us there is no parking problems

My wife usually parks round the back of Ormarod road, but they have made it all residents only.
There are now very few parking places left that someone can leave their car all day without having to pay exorbitant costs.

We are now forced to walk quite a distance in order to be able to drive into work in Burnley & park without having to fork out high amounts of dosh.

Says a lot for making it somewhere to work eh :(

If only the council would either buy or rent the additional space on the TKMaxx car park that is doing nothing.

There are still the odd place that does not have warden or clamper controlled parking.
But I'm keeping quiet about them :D
