I'm comparing the two and that was the entire point of the post. Allow me to put it into Canadian perspective for you. Sadam: 1) Tortured, Killed, Lied and we are unlikely to ever get straight answer or know the full story about what went on. 2) Invaded Kuwait under false pretense. Bush/Blair: 1) Tortured, Killed, Lied and we are unlikely to ever get a straight answer or know the full story about what IS going on. 2) Invaded Iraq under false pretense to find Weapons of Mass Destruction. Where I come if it looks like sh*t and smells like sh*t... Then it's normally Sh*t. You can call an icecream cone a shovel if you want. But that isn't going to make it true. So if you're saying that USA/Britain are better than Sadam because he was "the bad guy" and America/England are the "good guys." All I can say is that line of thinking is best left with adolescents in highschool and in comic books. Because in the end, Batman and Superman aren't real and Blair and Bush are poor imitations. |

| damn right im saying were better than saddam. i honstly dont give 2 s**ts wheteher there were weapons of mass destruction there. the main thing is we released then from a tyranical dictator, which HAS to be a good thing. and as for bush and blair, i would rather have people like them in office, who actually feel like trying to make the worlsd a better place, than some wimpy tosser who backs down, and appeases everything |

2) I'm certain the dead and the victims sleep peacefully knowing Blair and Bush are holding the entire world safe in their hands. I'm not trying to attack you personally. (Honestly I'm not) And for the record my husband is a vet from the first Gulph war. I back the men that are out there doing the job they said they would. (They do as they are told.) I'm attacking the morons that started this mess and sent them there. But this neo-conservative crap that is going on in the world today is best left for children. Personally being half-native north american indian I have always found the game of cowboys and indians to be immature and an insult to my intelligence. Neo-cons are the reason why people who forget to take their medication get shot on planes and brazilian citzens get offed in the tube. I don't care how you slice it, the world is NOT a better place since the "Double B Team" decided to safety engineers. Personally I feel more "Unsafe" when I fly on an airplane or take public transit. Because I know that regarldess of what protocols, procedures or security sytems you put in place. Someone determined enough will find away to work around it. And now they have tons of reasons and motivation try go and work around everything to kill a buch of innocent people. And the solution is NOT to become like the terrorists and employ the exact same strategys. It makes us no better than they are. And sooner or later if you act like a monster you are going to become one. Only in our case it will be our societies that one day will become police states every bit as scary as Sadam's dictatorship. England/America/etc. will "protect our freedoms" at any cost and until there are NO FREEDOMS! World politics is not about good guys vs bad guys in this world. Concepts of Good and Evil are best left clergymen and nuns to debate. The key is STABILITY! George Bush sr. knew that Margret Thatcher knew it. Jean Chretian knew it. Bill Clinton knew it. You will know that wasn't a mess during their political times. And I didn't get a body cavity search getting on an airplane. |

| Hello again, I have never seen the sense in wars of any kind. I often think of those in the Second World War who gave their lives, and for what. Most of them were affected in a very negative way. They saw things that people shouldn't have to see, and it's a pretty heartless person who doesn't realize that these people didn't necessarily want to go to war - they had to. Did it stop wars? Was the human race sensible enough to realize that war is good for nobody, even the country winning the war. As human beings, we are supposed to be the apex of God's creation. This means we are the most intelligent species God has on this earth. What a sad state of affairs! Even animals when they are being trained, know what is good and what is going to hurt them - but we as the most intelligent think we know better than our Creator. Don't get me wrong I am not a religious fanatic, but just think as human beings we should have more sense than to engage in this kind of destructive behaviour. Here we are with enough technology to eradicate disease on the whole planet, and yet we have no cure for cancer, or any of the neurological diseases. What's wrong with us? Why don't those in power realize that human life is more important than whether a man lands on the moon, or how long a rocket can circle the earth. All that money should be used for helping mankind all over the world. When this happens, there will be no more poverty, at least not the kind where your life is at stake. We have so much knowledge, we could make this world a different place for everyone. We have to get our leaders to listen to us and to use the money for the poor, for education, for good health coverage. It would be so easy to do if some of these other aggressive interests didn't take so much money. As usual, we will probably do it the hard way changing things only one heart at a time. Even this is a step in the right direction. Blessings, Ry |

I give 2 s**ts if he had WMDs, if he did I would have been seriously concerned, and may have supported the war. We didn't release them. All we did was exchange there head of state, whom we supported and gave the guns too, so he could get there in the first place. Thats right the USA, and us to some extent sold him guns and chemical weapons. The iraqis are no better off now. In bagdad they only have electrizity 1/7 of the time, the water is often contaminated, hospitals can no longer cope, law and order has completly broken down to the extent the streets are no longer safe to walk in. In 2 years we will have killed as many civillians as Sadam. Youre argument about politicians who wouldn't go to war being wimps is plain immature and ignorant. Wheres the bravery in ordering men to there deaths? |
