Thanks for the info Matty!! We all should check the smoke alarm's working and have a plan on how to get out of the house in case of fire!
Hopefuly we will never need to put them to the test! but you never know, and it could be a matter of life or death!

Four people i know have burned there houses down with candles, three of them by leaving a candle in a plastic container.

one person i know burned his flat out by putting an electric blanket on and then going out clubbing. I raised the alrm as i lived upstairs and could smell the smoke coming through the floor.

My best friend of old lost his house when his daughter (6 yrs) took a handfull of insence sticks, lit them in the gas fire, just like she'd seen daddy do, and left them on the sofa, then come out to the garden saying " daddy 'moke".

My sister set the kitchen on fire with the chip pan.

Honestly! What are they like?

Naked flames are dangerous things. specially combined with tiredness, drunkenness, and general wreck headedness.

Dont know anyone who has set there bed on fire with fags (yet), or anyone who's house has been torched due the the aegis of a coal fire.
