eee, now that takes me back..
I used to be a G7 class B ham, back in the days when I had space for a radio etc.
I'm hoping that when I finally get my loft all sortedf I'll have somewhere for my SW radio & other gear to redo it.
It's all changed now though, I understand that you'll get access to the HF bands etc..

Good for you, go for it.
However I found that the level of conversation was a tad boring becuse of the restrictions on what your allowed to do.
Packet radio was what prompted me to come on the internet, using the packet BBS's etc.

Mattylad,
G7???

Hi Mattylad, You should get yourself back on the air as amatuer radio is taking off again. You are right about the changes, as an M3 (foundation callsign) you are alloewd on all HF/VHF bands except 10 mtrs, and satellite. You are allowed 10w erp which on 80mtrs can go a long way, when you reach intermediate level with a 2E0 callsign you are allowed all bands and 50w erp, and as a MO advanced you are allowed all bands and 400w erp.
As it happens i have a 2mtr/70cms dualbander mobile rig for sale hee hee.
